Swope Park Industrial Area is located in the south-central portion of Kansas City, Missouri, less than one mile east of Bruce R Watkins Memorial Drive (Highway 71). This is an economically vital business park comprised of various lean manufacturing facilities engaged in nationwide niche competition, providing over 400 skilled jobs to the community. The Swope Park Industrial Association members share common interests in advocating safety for employees and business associates who work for companies in the industrial park and strive to create an environment that is conductive to attracting manufacturing or service related industry.

SPIA has been a longtime member and supporter of KCIC and continues to send representatives to Washington D.C. to promote the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers' projects for Turkey Creek/Blue River. SPIA also works with MoArk on waterway issues and supports Go Long Club, a local non-profit group that gives local youth a chance to attend college through scholarships. Annual clean-up weekends and blood drives are also part of the SPIA agenda.
